Wilton Water Works Minutes

COMMISSIONERS:   Chairperson Jim Tuttle; Charles McGettigan and Stanley Schultz.

Jim Tuttle called the meeting to order at 8:07 p.m.

Minutes – August 27, 2008

An addition was suggested: The July 30 minutes were approved as written.

MOTION: (McGettigan/Schultz) to approve 8/27/08 minutes as amended. All were in favor.

OLD BUSINESS

1.    Holt Road Chlorinator Building – The commissioners will meet at the site and decide how to dismantle the building and cap over the top.

 

2.    Interior Tank Painting – Merrithew is waiting for the insurance certificate and the bid bond requirements from Limerick.

 

3.    Water Rate Increase Study – McGettigan will contact Rural Water and set up a meeting to discuss water rate increases for October. (This has been on the agenda since March, 2008)

 

4.    Backflow Device Installations  - Bob Bragdon has not done the installations yet.

5.    Meter Reading and BillingMcGettigan will give Jane Farrell a copy of the August minutes which state the deadlines for billing, shut offs etc. Tuttle will set up a meeting with Pennichuck regarding all the misreads with the September meter reading.

NEW BUSINESS

1.    Water Source Protection Project – Tuttle reported that Pierce Rigrod w/DES is holding up the project. Dan Tinkham w/Emery & Garrett Groundwater, Inc. continues to work to push the project along.

 

2.    Backflow Testing Will be scheduled for October.

3.    Sanitary Survey by DESIs scheduled for September 30. Bob Mann will look at the well sites, pump station. tank and possibly the backflow devices. Tuttle and Schultz are available that day and Pennichuck will be there as well.

 

 MOTION: (Schultz/Tuttle) To adjourn the meeting. All were in favor.  The meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
