Wilton Water Commission

January 30, 2002

COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Jim Tuttle; Tom Herlihy & Charlie McGettigan.
CLERK:    Diane Nilsson
AUDIENCE PRESENT:  None

Jim Tuttle called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
1.  Minutes - November 24, 2001
MOTION: Mr. McGettigan  moved to accept the 11/28/01 minutes as written. Mr. Herlihy seconded and  all were in favor.
2. Letter from Ken Sullivan disputing the $3,400 +/- bill for water connection. According to Mr. Tuttle, at the November 13 Zoning Board of Adjustment meeting, Mr. Sullivan and Mr.Tuttle discussed Mr. Sullivan’s desire to have water service brought to his property on Route 31 and Route 101. Mr. Tuttle told him that the cost would be in the ballpark of $2,000 to $3,000 for time and materials in addition to the $1,000 connection fee. Unfortunately there is nothing in writing to document the quote. The board will review the bill at its February meeting and the clerk was asked to write a letter to Mr. Sullivan. This led to a discussion of how the board charges for water service time and materials. Charlie said that he will research the rules and regs used by the Water Dept’s of Jaffrey, Peterborough, Milford, Merrrimack etc. He will bring these to the next meeting.
3. Status of Sam Proctor lawsuit: The board will not shut off Mr. Proctor’s water until the court adjudicates it.  The court date has not been set as yet.
4. Reply to David & Jane Glines’ request for a free hookup to water system. Mr. Tuttle will contact David Glines and get a copy of his plans. If it looks like there is a conflict with the State Route 31 boundary and the Glines boundary, the board will contact the State.
5.  Current overdue accounts and their status: Levesque has paid in full. Silva and Wiley have greatly cut their usage. No details on payments on these accounts. Office still needs to complete paperwork for LaPonsie and Hall liens.
6.  Status of new Chlorine Delivery System:  All the electrical work is done. Mr. McGettigan waiting for a plumber to do some pipe installation and the job will be complete.
7.  Second River Crossing update: Mr. Herlihy did not contact Mr. Robinson, so there is no news. He will contact Mr. Robinson and/or Mr. Thayer before the next meeting. Mr. McGettigan will contact John Wells, of Bob’s Directional Boring, and let him know that the board is still interested in the project.
8.  Burns Hill Road water extension & loop closing on Holt Road. Tabled until February.
9.  Pump station on Burns Hill Road.  Tabled until February.
10. Status of CEI grant submittal: Wilton was not awarded for a grant. There were more applicants than there was money.
A motion was made and all agreed to adjourn the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Diane Nilsson, Clerk
