1) Conservation Commissioners Lynne Draper and Spencer Brookes attended
the meeting to discuss a proposed trail easement to be given to the town.
Cappy
DeMontigny and George Desmarais are creating a 7-lot subdivision on
Pead Hill Road. They are proposing giving a trail easement to the
town that would connect to Carnival Hill. Discussion ensued as to
what the trail would used for and who would maintain the area. No
decision was reached and Chairman Rockwood stated any acceptance of the
town of this type of easement would be a Conservation Commission decision.
Mr. DeMontigny stated that he has already requested to be on the agenda
of the Conservation Commission’s next meeting.
2) Helen Egan attended the meeting to inform the Board that ashes had again found on her car and house as a result of burning brush at the Recycling Center. The issue was discussed at length and Helen admitted that the situation had improved but she felt that the town could at least pay for her to have her car washed when this happens. Chairman Rockwood stated that he would look at her car the next day and he didn’t think the Board would have a problem with a car wash.
3) Peggy asked if she could employ student to help put with data input. Selectman Condra made a motion that the request for a part time person be permitted if the Budget would allow. Selectman Rockwood seconded the motion, with all in favor.
4) The Board discussed a request for a disability lien for a resident and tabled the issue until Selectman Donovan could be consulted at the next scheduled meeting. An issue of clearing a lot on Pleasant Street was discussed with no decision being made at this time.
5) The bills and payroll for the week ending July5, 2008 were reviewed and approved.
6) The correspondence and informational material was reviewed.
The meeting was adjourned on a motion at 8:40 pm with all in favor.
Respectfully submitted;
Peggy Arn, Recording Secretary
