TOWN OF WILTON
SELECTMEN’S MINUTES
Date: April 7, 2008
Time: 7:00pm
Place: Town Office
Present: Selectmen Richard Rockwood, Daniel Donovan, III and William Condra and Recording Secretary Peggy Arn

1) Maurice Guay attended the meeting to discuss the use of the incinerator. The Board agreed that if the state would extend the operating permit to 2010, they would look into the addition of scrubbers to reduce the emission of smoke into the air.

2) The Board discussed the possibility of Keith Carmen becoming the Welfare Officer. He stated that he would be interested and discussed what he considered to be his experience for the position. Former Welfare Officer Maria Brown has agreed to train the new Welfare Officer on a consulting basis. After the discussion, it was agreed that Keith would work with Peggy and try to implement a plan that would be acceptable to the Board for hours to be available. Peggy will look into training with the NH Local Welfare Administrators Association. Selectmen Rockwood and Condra stated that they would also be interested in any training sessions that would be available through this organization.

3) The bills and payroll for the week ending April 5, 2008 were reviewed and approved.

4) The correspondence and informational material was reviewed.

5) The Board reviewed and signed one abatement request, a Resolution for Town Treasurer and three Notices of Intent to Excavate.

6) Selectman Rockwood stated that he still did not have the information he felt was necessary to use for bids on the new truck for the highway and stated that he would check further to see what specs should be used when soliciting bids.

7) Several welfare issues were discussed and the Board made recommendations for the processing of applications.

The meeting was adjourned on a motion with all in favor at 8:25.

Respectfully submitted;

Peggy Arn, Recording Secretary
