Secretary Peggy Arn
1) Chief Hautanen attended the meeting to discuss Police Department business. He informed the Board that some of his Officers were doing detail duty for the Towns of Lyndeborough and Temple. They are cutting trees and need three to five officers a day to do traffic patrols. The issue is that they are paying more than Wilton does per hour and the Chief stated that he would like the Board’s approval to pay his Officers more money that would come closer to the average of surrounding towns. The Board agreed that he could raise the hourly rate from $30 to $35. They also decided that the school could be charged only the officer rate and that the town portion would be waived.
2) The Chief also gave the Board his Records Analysis Report for last year.
3) Gary Crooker attended the meeting to ask if the Board would let member of the Old Home Days use the town’s Federal ID number for non-profit fund raising. Because of the nature of the fund raising, the Board declined his request.
4) The Board reviewed the proposed Warrant Articles. Selectman Rockwood had questions on some of the articles. He stated that he should have had the opportunity to review the proposed articles sooner. He did; however sign the Warrant.
5) One abatement request was reviewed and approved.
6) One Veteran’s application for a Tax Credit was reviewed and approved.
7) Selectman Rockwood made the following motion:
