Present: Selectmen Stuart Draper, Chair. and Robert MacFarland and
Recording Secretary Peggy Arn
1) Brian Adams attended the meeting and informed the Board that the
he had found a truck, fully equipped, that could replace the old 77 truck.
The Board discussed the possibility of a lease purchase agreement.
A payment of $20,234 could be made this year and then the remaining amount
be paid next year. Both Selectman agreed that a new truck has to
be purchased because the old one is beyond repair. Selectman Draper
will present the purchase to the Budget Committee Tuesday.
2) Brian and the Board discussed how the old Russell Hill Bridge should
be barricaded when the new bridge is open. It was agreed that poles,
with reflector tape, should be placed at both ends of the bridge with enough
room between for the snowmobilers to pass through.
3) Neil Faiman attended the meeting to discuss a personnel issue.
Selectman MacFarland made a motion to adjourn to executive session per
RSA 91-A:3,II(a) at 7:30. Selectman Draper seconded the motion, which
passed unanimously. The regular meeting was called to order at 7:45.
4) Hal and Joan Melcher were next on the agenda. Hal informed
the Board that Wilton resident, former Admiral USN Charles Khoury, will
turn 100 years old on November 28, 2003. Hal asked the Board if it
would be possible for the Board to present him with the Boston Post Cane
which is usually given to the town’s oldest resident. The Board agreed
to go to Mr. Khoury’s house and present him with the cane.
5) The bills and payroll for the week ending November 1, 2003 were
reviewed and signed. The correspondence and informational material
was reviewed. One Current use Exiting Penalty was signed.
6) The quote from Plodzin and Sanderson was reviewed and it was decided
that a decision would not be made until next week.
7) Chairman Draper made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting and
call an executive session per RSA91-A:3,II(a). Selectman MacFarland
seconded the motion; which passed unanimously.
