TOWN OF WILTON
SELECTMEN’S MINUTES

Date:  October 13, 2003
Time:  7:00 pm
Place:  Town Office
Present: Selectmen Stuart Draper, Chair. and Jerry Greene and Recording
  Secretary Peggy Arn

1) Town Assessor Richard Rockwood and Brian Adams attended the meeting to discuss a Current Use Penalty on Brian’s property.  After a discussion, the Board agreed on the assessment to be charged.
2) Next on the agenda was the swearing in of the new Police Chief.  Chairman Stuart Draper administrated the oath of office to Brent Hautanen.  Several friends, relatives and fellow Police Officers attended.
3) The bills and payroll for the week ending October 11, 2003 were reviewed and approved.
4) The minutes from the October 6, 2003 meeting were amended and signed
5) The correspondence and informational material was reviewed.
6) The contract for the work at Carnival Hill by Don Wheeler Construction Company was signed.  The work will begin this week.
7) The Board discussed having an open house and met the new Chief with Chief Hautanen.  Plans will be made for this event when Chief Hautanen has been working a couple of weeks.
8) Plans are also being made to have a ribbon cutting ceremony on October 27, 2003 at the new Police Station.  Governor Benson will be in Wilton and Tim Farrell is trying to make arrangements for the Governor to do the ribbon cutting.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:50 on a motion with all in favor.
