Heritage Committee Meeting for 17 December ’02

The meeting was called to order at 7:35 at the Wilton Public Library. In attendance were Corinne Blagbrough, Robert Chouinard, Leslie Wharton, and Stan Young.

Because of Michael’s busy schedule, he was unable to finish the work on the tri-fold. Stan obtained a new estimate on printing the tri-fold from Fay Crawford. The charge would be $350 for 300 and $510 for 500. Stan will work with Fay to complete the tri-fold and Leslie also offered to help out if needed.

Sam Proctor has advised Stan Young that a deposit could hold the sale of the Good News Bible Church for up to nine months. Sam also mentioned that the elders would like to sell the chandelier separately to raise more money. With this news plus the limited support voiced by the 20 Wilton Center residents at the special December 4 meeting, the Heritage Commission will take a “wait and see” attitude regarding the sale of this building.

Stanley suggested that we plan to have a Conservation Seminar and get knowledgeable speakers to inform the public of the benefits of donating their land.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:10.

Robert A. Chouinard: Secretary
