The Trustees approved the minutes of July 24, 2009.
• Discussion Items
o Trustees agreed that the increase of the price of a single lot to $300 would be effective on September 1, 2009.
o Brian attended a Selectman’s meeting during which the cost of all burials was set at $300.  The Trustees agreed that Brian should attend another meeting to clarify our request that the cost to bury cremated remains should only be $125.  These prices are to cover burials on any day of the week to include Saturdays and holidays.
o Update on Mt. Calvary- Doreece has not received any information from the Diocese of Manchester to clarify who is eligible to be buried in Mt. Calvary.
o Trustees requested Doreece to invite Carl to attend the next meeting to provide input on topics of Green burials and the protocol for town employees during a burial ceremony.
o Trustees discussed the storing of items removed by the Custodian of the Cemeteries. The request will be that items removed should be stored for a short time. We will revisit this topic to determine the length of time for storage and if there is an appropriate place to store items. Family members can call a member of the Cemetery Trustees to determine if their item has been stored or discarded.
o Mr. McGettigan asked a question about inappropriate materials dumped at Laurel Hill. Most of the Trustees were not aware of these items but agreed that we would look into this and discuss further at our next meeting.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at the Town Hall Office at 7 PM.
