WILTON BOARD OF CEMETERY TRUSTEES
PO Box 83     Wilton, NH 03086

Draft of Minutes from April 14, 2008

PRESENT:    All Trustees and Steve Elliott

The minutes of March 31st were accepted as presented.

Doreece will call PSNH to have electricity turned back on for Vale End Cemetery.

The Trustees approved that Steve Elliott shall be authorized to sell cemetery lots.

Steve is getting a cemetery crew together for work this year.  If the grounds are dry enough, the cemeteries will be open for cremation openings on April 15th and full burials on May 1st.  The fee for the opening of a full burial is $300 and for an urn opening, $125.  A lot accommodates two burials or two cremains per burial.  For future reference, if weather permits a winter burial, the fee is $500 for jack hammering that is needed if the ground is frozen.

Jim will set up a schedule with Blue Seal to have the Ph of the soil tested again.  If the soil is ready, it can be seeded and maintenance can be done.

We had a call about the placement of a Veteran’s marker.  The town would place a Veteran’s flat markers at no charge and all other markers are to be placed by a monument company.

We looked at the map of lots for Vale End Cemetery and noticed some changes have to be made to accommodate access of equipment for burials.   Doreece will speak with Dawn Tuomala of Monadnock Survey to see if she can make the changes to the map.

The next meeting will be Thursday, May 22th, at the Wilton Town Hall at 7PM.
