PRESENT: All trustees and Charlie McGettigan
The minutes of January 28th were accepted as presented.
We reviewed the action items that require attention.
A few months ago, Jim created a letter of compliance that we reviewed as Trustees. Jim will email this letter to the other trustees so it can be refined a bit more. We will begin to send this letter to owners of lots with the intention of asking that excess items be removed from the lot so that the cemeteries will look more respectful. This will also help greatly in the maintenance of the cemeteries.
Doreece had a date set up for the installation of the HMIS cemetery software to a town computer. Due to a ‘glitch’ with the computer, this date was rescheduled.
Carl Michaud, the new owner of the Nelson/Michaud Funeral Home in Wilton, had a conversation with Doreece at the town office about ‘poly containers vs. concrete burial vaults’. Information he was going to send did not arrive before the trustees meeting so we were not able to discuss the pros and cons. We hope to do this at our next meeting.
MAPPING- all the sounding has been done and the maps have been updated. New data will go onto the system.
There was a question of perpetual care continuing at Mount Calvary Cemetery, should the management of the cemetery be given to the Catholic Church. The Church in Greenville does have equipment, which they use for the cemetery in Greenville. Using equipment they have, we expect they would also maintain Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In the future, we expect to have a discussion on the pricing of lots.
The next meeting will be March 31st at the Wilton Town Hall at 7PM.
